Beef Shin at its best Our famous Date Pudding Lunch Platter Carpaccio on Potato Rosti

Photos by Roelene Prinsloo

Old Joe’s Kaia is well-known for its excellent cuisine and fabulous wines. Meals are creative yet wholesome with a country flair in true South African style. Trout from the area is a regular feature, as well as venison and ostrich. Fresh vegetables and herbs are harvested from the vegetable garden. We also cater for vegans and vegetarians.

Meals can be enjoyed inside the cosy lounge-dining area or outside on the balcony at tree-top level. The view from the balcony is graced by the mountain in the distance and the lush garden below. Many interesting birds can be observed from here whilst enjoying a beverage or light snack.

  • Breakfast is served À la Carte for ZAR99.00.
  • Lunch is served À la Carte.
  • Dinner is a 4-course set menu for ZAR185.00 (choice between 2 starters and 2 main dishes, a vegetarian option in both).
  • Picnic baskets or food packs /backpacks can also be arranged.

Advance bookings are essential for Dinner, while it is advisable to book for Breakfast and Lunch, especially for groups.

Vegetable Garden

The kitchen uses as much organic produce as possible. Establishing its own vegetable garden and buying as much local free-range produce as possible in order to reduce food miles are all part of Old Joe's Kaia's underlying philosophy of providing the guest with a holistic experience of harmony and tranquillity.
